We recognise how vital outdoor learning is for children and the importance children need to make connections with their environment. Children need time to explore and take risks in their natural environment.
Our Wild Woods Forest school session is run by Jen and Kate who have in-depth knowledge of the benefits to offering children time to play and learn in a natural environment. We have had the pleasure of observing children thrive in the outdoor space, they develop confidence and learn new skills.
During our sessions the children enjoy den making, bug hunting, mud kitchen play, climbing, lighting the campfire, cooking on the campfire, creating homes for our woodland animals, bird spotting, using our tools, nature craft, singing around the campfire and spotting what is happening and has changed seasonally around the woods.
We use our experiences at forest school to develop our practice at Acorns so we can nurture children and help them reach their full potential.
