About Us

We have been caring for children aged 2 to 4 for more than 20 years, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment.

Our children engage in a wide range of experiences that are designed to support learning through play. We have a wonderful outdoor space in which the children can express themselves and explore the natural world.

We have recently signed up for the Curiosity Approach accreditation. As a setting, we recognise that all children are individuals and work closely with each child to meet their needs and to provide specific support. We encourage them to explore using natural materials and problem-solve for themselves

We are well-established within the community and conveniently situated next to Winsley Primary School. Our close links with the school enable us to work with them when preparing children for the transition from early years to Foundation education. We also work with the other local schools that some of Acorns' children will move on to.

At Acorns Preschool our mission is to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment which promotes the learning and development of every child attending our setting. Giving them the freedom to be curious and explore the world around them.

We empower children to take the lead in their learning journey, with the freedom to explore, create, and experiment in order to promote creativity and critical thinking.

We want our children to become confident, kind, independent learners so it is vital that they feel safe, supported and nurtured at every point of their time with us.
